What is SCDNUG?

Space Coast Dot Net User Group is a volunteer organization providing opportunities for

·         continuing education

·         peer networking

·         professional growth

to developers and IT professionals in Brevard County, Florida.

How do we achieve our goals?

Continuing education opportunities are provided via our monthly meetings, book and product giveaways and bi-monthly information about regional developer and IT events. 

Currently we meet every third Wednesday of the Month in the Melbourne headquarters of the Space Coast Credit Union. Our meetings start with review of products, technologies and regional events. We continue with the main session and usually we finalize our meeting with a raffle giving away software and/or books. The proceeds from the raffle cover food and drink expenses. Currently we do not have a membership fee.

We host sessions by INETA speakers, regional community leaders and local speakers. The sessions cover wide range of topics related to current and future Microsoft technologies.

If you are interested in improving your presentation skills SCDNUG provides an excellent opportunity to kick start your speaker experience. Members are encouraged to participate with presentation/sessions about interesting projects on the job, book reviews and demos of new technologies or practical code demonstrations.

SCDNUG works closely with other regional groups such as Orlando Dot Net User Group to cross promote regional events.

Some of the active members of SCDNUG regularly join regional Code Camps as speakers and volunteers.

When: Wednesday May 21, 2008 @ 6:30 PM

 

Silverlight 2 includes a cross-platform, cross-browser version of the .NET Framework, and enables a rich .NET development platform that runs in the browser.  Developers can write Silverlight applications using any .NET language (including VB, C#, JavaScript, IronPython and IronRuby).  We will ship Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Studio tool support that enables great developer / designer workflow and integration when building Silverlight applications.

There will be pizza and magazines available at this meeting. There will be a raffle for a Office 2007 pro at the end of the meeting.

The Florida user groups have the Orlando convention center for the weekend between the Developer and IT pro tracks of TechEd.  On Saturday there will be a Sql Saturday, Open Space,  RoboChamp, Agile Camp, .Net Code Camp, and IT pro code camp.
